Why is it that we are so confronted by sex?
Petra Elliott (Splendid Chaps, Night Terrace, The Mighty Little Puppet Show) is back with her saucy cabaret, Petrasexual, part of The Butterfly Club’s 2016 Curated Spring Season. The theatre and its cocktail bar full of conversation-starting kitsch is a perfect excursion for a first date, or night out with friends.
With cheeky covers, powerful parodies, and some twisted interpretations of pop, blues and funk, Petrasexual is a sassy cabaret that looks at feminism, fantasy, and many more issues that just get in the way of people having a mutually consensual good time.
Examining a society which often has a narrow definition of sexuality, gender and ‘acceptable behaviour’ Petra reflects on her own less-than-romantic experiences that led to an understanding that everyone’s got their something.
It’s a journey of discovering, redefining and truly accepting your own unique brand of sexuality (and everyone else’s), whichever box you put yourself in.
Smart, sexy & sensational: Petrasexual is the perfect night out for one, two, three or even more … there’s no judgement here.
“Classy and provocative” – Theatre People
“As splendid as the best of them” – Sometimes Melbourne
Show contains brief partial nudity (for like, maybe 2 minutes) and quite a bit of blue language.
